Course Development
In this course, students will analyze properties of air and airflow in ventilation systems. They will also design ventilation systems for mines including investigation and problem-solving of existing or proposed systems The design ventilation systems will include selection of duct systems, solution of network flows, selection of fans, sizing of regulators, and selection of heaters/coolers. All design work must also adhere to regulatory and environmental guidelines and standards. Field trips to local industry will be arranged if possible.
