Cambrian College Re-open Plan

Dear Cambrian College Students:

As our province, country and community slowly begin the process of resuming activity amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Cambrian is developing a re-open plan that will guide us through the coming weeks and months.

Specifically, we are looking forward to welcoming new and returning Cambrian students this fall in true Cambrian style, albeit somewhat differently than usual.

We are planning for a fall semester featuring a hybrid model of delivery -- meaning a combination of faculty-led remote teaching and learning for those components of our programs that can be delivered remotely (online), and in-person delivery of the hands-on learning experiences that must take place on campus.

On-campus delivery of hands-on learning course requirements will take place as restrictions are lifted, and in a manner that reflects our commitment to the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff, and in keeping with public health recommendations.

We anticipate continued restrictions on large gatherings this fall, so we will be doing our best to minimize on-campus activity.

The priority for in-person delivery will be for those course elements that cannot be delivered remotely, or that are required for students to progress in their program of study.

It goes without saying that many of you have had your studies impacted by COVID-19.

If you are a current Cambrian student, you have transitioned to virtual delivery on short notice.

If you are an international student hoping to begin your studies in Canada, travel restrictions and other guidelines have prompted you to begin your Cambrian experience remotely.

To all of you, I encourage you to continue your studies or your return to school as planned, and allow the Cambrian family to support you throughout this process to achieve your academic goals.

There remain many details to clarify, and you can expect further information from us in the coming weeks and months leading up to our fall semester start.

For now, I remain confident in the continued delivery of the high-quality education and experience that Cambrian students expect and that we are known for locally, provincially, nationally and internationally.

I look forward to continuing to work together towards our new normal, and to welcoming you back to campus in-person in the future.

Bill Best

President, Cambrian College
